Restarting Part II So quite a while ago I wrote on starting again after an injury had prevented me from painting for a while. The featured painting on the left is the result of my venture. It took me a while to solidify my thoughts because it was so long since I had started the painting and I had forgotten my original ideas. I really had to start all over again at the planning stage while incorporating what I had already done. Easy? Not! I soon was into my usual planning mode of the 3:00 AM wake up and stew but the ideas jelled so out came my little sketch book that I do my value sketches in. One night I was able to clarify my jumbled thoughts and come up with a pattern for the painting. I don't know if this painting was fun but getting it finished was. I'm now working on a commission for a client and have three more to do as well as three shows coming up. We spent six days on the beach: I did a sketch and took hundreds of photos so perhaps you will be seeing another demo soon of a sunset on the west coast of BC.
