This painting is a good
example of glazing in watercolour. I started with very transparent washes
of Aureolin Yellow, then Rose Madder Genuine and finally Cobalt Blue for the
sky and water. There are up to 25 individual glazes in areas of this
painting. I painted the Islands with Quinacridone Rose and Ultramarine
Blue.
