Summer in The Mountains is painted on
140 pound watercolor paper.
I
have done several paintings of this mountain in different seasons and
different mediums. Years ago we climbed Mt. Albert Edward and the
view was breath-taking. There is snow all year round in some areas on
the 6,868 foot peak. The painting was done in the studio in water colour
from a pencil sketch I did on location. It is an exploration of greens.
I wanted the greens to look fresh so I combined greens and yellows in
juicy washes. The darker greens were added later after the washes were
dry.
